On Friday, October 10, Westford Academy Girls’ Volleyball defeated Waltham 3-0.

With a strong start to the game, and sporting brand new uniforms, the girls annihilated their opposers quickly, with a score of 25-10 in the first set.

The second set was a little shaky, but with a strong start, WA was in the lead by 8 points, and Waltham quickly closed the gap.

“Communication has been a big thing for us all year but it didn’t work well [today],” said co-captain Bridget Allison.

However, WA pulled it out in the end, winning the set 25-17.

The third and final set was another strong one for the Lady Ghosts, who quickly defeated the team again 25-11.

Despite their victory however, Coach Brandon Eang was not impressed with his team’s performance.

“They’re not playing to the level that they should be. They’re playing at the level of the competition,” said Eang.

Co-Captains Allison and Marie McGourty agreed with their coach, and look to improve their team dynamic in the future.

“We are definitely going to work on talking more, which is easier said than done, but we are gonna work on our setting and getting the ball to our setters so we can hit more often,” said McGourty.
