Q: Why did you decide to return to Westford Academy?

A: I missed you guys! And I worked up at Manchester Essex [High School], and I realized there are a lot of benefits to a larger school [like WA], like how it enables me to work with a larger staff, and share more collegially with partners in teaching, and you don’t have that same opportunity when you are the only person or one of two people on the staff.

Q: How is Westford Academy compared to the last school you taught at?

A: Actually both schools have good students academically and athletically, I think they are both highly ranked when you look at the latest US news, Boston Magizene polls you can see that both schools are way up there so I did enjoy both experiences, but one thing I did enjoy was teaching AP Physics at the other school, and it was an extra challenge for me and I enjoyed that. I don’t have that here but I do have opportunities to contribute to a lot of different things here that I didn’t get to do there. I really enjoy it here.

Q: Have you noticed any changes in the school from the last time you taught here?

A: It’s still very hot in the science wing, but actually there are very few changes, most of the faculty is pretty stable here.

Q: What is your favorite part of teaching?

A: Well, there really are many aspects of teaching I enjoy. I enjoy teaching here because the students seem more mature here at WA then at Manchester Essex. That may be due to the fact I am only teaching juniors and seniors here, but I also missed you guys here.
