		<description>I think another piece of it is the environment the person has grown up in.  

If your parents had the extra money floating around in your pocket, they took you out to Starbucks for a treat.  If not then, the &quot;clan&quot; made a hasty trip to Dunkin&#039;s.  

Another piece could be that with Starbucks, you are paying for the ambiance of the shop.  In my opinion, that makes up for the &quot;overpriced&quot; coffee.  Dunkin&#039;s may have decent coffee, but it really isn&#039;t the get-together spot for teenagers.
